In an effort to maintain transparency in my practice I have created some new policies in regards to scheduling appointments, Lab fees and in office procedures. Please read before your next appointment or in the waiting area at your next visit. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to ask me at your next appointment.

New Office Policies

 

Changes to Online Scheduling

​

For your convenience, Dr. Michelle uses an online booking software that allows you to book your follow up visits, phone or virtual consultations, to reschedule or cancel appointments. Booking appointments, the calendar only allows you to schedule as close as 7 days and up to 3 months online. If you need to get in the same day or next couple of days, please email or call the office for any openings. You can cancel or reschedule appointments online up to 72 hrs before the appointment. This is the preferred method of appointment changes. If you cancel within 48 hrs or miss the appointment, 50% cost of the visit will apply to your account.

 

Virtual appointments NEW

Virtual appointments are now available for follow up appointments that you can’t make it into the office.  You will be able to get recommendations for lifestyle, nutrition suggestions or have your prescription changed. You will not be able to have individualized testing for food sensitivities, homeopathic remedies or other physical treatments (acupuncture or physical assessments), that are regularly done in office. In office visits are preferred. Please be have your computer set up and be in the waiting room 5 minutes before your appointment and be prepared to wait up to 10 minutes in the virtual waiting room, in case I am running behind in office.  If you are late to you appointment, that time will be deducted from the visit but you will still pay the full fee. Please send your e-transfer before the appointment. You can access the virtual waiting room zoom from your email reminder . If you have questions prior to your first virtual appointment please email a day before to get them answered.

 

Acupuncture Visits

Acupuncture visits will now solely focus on maximizing time and benefit for acupuncture treatments based on the current treatment plan.  The initial acupuncture assessment and schedule will be created during a regular 1 hour visit and will be scheduled weekly for 6 – 8 weeks. During the 25 minute acupuncture visits, we will briefly chat about how you are feeling and how the previous acupuncture treatment was and proceed to treatment. During these visits Dr. Michelle will not be addressing new issues or creating new prescriptions. After the 5 – 6 weeks a formal acupuncture reassessment will occur during a 1 hour visit. For long term acupuncture treatment plans, approximately every 4 weeks, a 1 hour acupuncture and follow up visit will be scheduled to reassess acupuncture treatments, new symptoms/issues, to create new prescription recommendations, energy work and an acupuncture treatment, if time permits.

 

Fullscript Policy Changes

​

• If Dr. Michelle has missed adding a supplement to your order, please email before ordering, as she can easily add it to your prescription. You can also look back at all previous prescriptions and easily select the supplement from previous recommendations.

• If one of your supplements is on backorder, please message the customer service reps (in the box at the bottom of right hand side) , to find out how long the backorder is expected. If the backorder is longer than a few days. Please hit the button that says “request an alternative from your provider.” If an alternative is available, Dr. Michelle will resend your prescription with the recommended dosages on Fullscript. Don’t hesitate to email if it is unclear.

• If you purchased the Preferred Membership card, the 15% discount will be automatically applied by Dr. Michelle and will be valid for 1 year. After 1 year your account will return to full price if you do not e-transfer or pay at your next visit the $28.25, to renew for another year.

• For long term patients or people who have fallen off track, prescriptions are valid for 6 months to 1 year, depending on the supplements. After, you will be required for a reassessment with Dr. Michelle and to continue ordering on Fullscript.

​​​​​​​​​​​Labs and Lab Results Policies

​

• If you are interested in getting blood work done by Dr. Michelle the payments and requisitions will be done during your appointment.

• All Lab requisition will incur the following charges:

  • Life Labs Documentation Fee $ 14.00

  •                  or

  • If the lab is separate from Life Labs (ICL or others) the fee is $22.00 (may vary)

  • Lab Interpretation fee $40.00

  • Plus the cost of the individual labs tested

• Fees are subjected to change without notice

• Some labs are covered by your benefit package, call your company to find out.

• Generally the lab results will be delivered to you at your next appointment, unless the results indicate an emergency situation, then you will be contacted by phone by Dr. Michelle. If you need your results sooner you can schedule a 15 minute consultations.
